2Submit Your Grant Application
Before you apply, make sure you have these documents ready:
Proof of address — a utility bill or council tax bill dated within the last 3 months
Proof of tenancy or ownership — your signed tenancy agreement (AST), or your leasehold title if you own the flat
If you're renting: written landlord or freeholder consent — grab our ready-made permission letter template to speed things along
Your itemised quote from Nison, showing the £500 grant deduction clearly
Vehicle evidence: your V5C logbook, lease agreement, or registration number if you already have the car — or your vehicle order form plus a photo of your off-street parking space if it's on order
Some landlords, especially councils or housing associations, require you to submit a business case as part of your permission — we support you with the information and supporting documents needed for this
Important points to note:
Normal turnaround: pre-approval within 10 working days, but due to demand, pre-approval can take longer than 10 working days
Our advice — apply sooner rather than later
Scheme rules mean we would not book your installation until your grant has been approved

Once your documents are ready, here's what the GOV.UK Find a Grant portal will ask for:
Section 1 — Basic Applicant Details: sign in or create a Find a Grant account, then enter your full name, address, contact number and email
Section 2 — Property & Tenancy Status: confirm whether you're a tenant or flat owner-occupier, confirm your dedicated private off-street parking, and give the full installation address
Section 3 — Installer Assignment: enter Nison's details — business name Nison Limited, OZEV Installer Number 13528, primary email nisonenergy@gmail.com, secondary email info@nisonenergy.com
Section 4 — Evidence Upload: the documents listed above
3Once Your Authorisation Code Arrives
As soon as OZEV issues your authorisation code, we move things forward in three steps:
We send you a link to start the home survey through our OpenQuote system, confirming your charger, any additional work required, and the grant-adjusted price
We'll then send you an invoice for a deposit of at least 50% of the total — or full payment, if required — to secure your installation slot
The remaining balance is due and must clear before our engineer arrives on site
Timescales are a guide only and depend on how quickly grants are being pre-approved, which is currently slower than usual due to high demand.
